Deb Murphy
Intrigued by the Mind-Body connection early in life, Debbi chose to obtain a masters in psychology & doctorate in exercise science from the University of Mo in the seventies. During this time, she taught at the university & the University of Missouri Medical Center and held a weekly television spot as the community's "fitness expert". Believing there was still a piece missing, she also pursued the study of yoga with master teachers such as John Friend, Richard Freeman, Rodney Yee, Shiva Rea and Seane Corn but felt she had truly "come home" when she took her teacher training from Erich Schiffmann. Compelled to create a space dedicated to "finding peace within", Debbi & fellow yogi, Pam Blasco, built Shanti Yoga Studio & School in 2001. Since then, Shanti hosts weekly classes, monthly workshops & advanced study/teacher training workshops. Their Teacher Training program developed out of hundreds of hours of study & practice and emphasizes the transformative power of yoga. Through personal experience and from teaching for the past 20 years, Debbi believes this power not only changes the person, but allows the practitioner to impact the evolving, dynamic art & science of yoga. Debbi loves to teach yoga and has expanded her schedule to include classes at other locations including Om Yoga in Sayulita, Mexico, the Yoga Tree of Boise, Cascade & in other settings throughout the Northwest. She continues to attend advanced teacher trainings and workshops with master teachers, but feels her greatest influences are her students. Although she teaches a variety of classes, all grounded in sound biomechanics and mind-body-spirit integration, her favorite style is vinyasa.

Jacqui Terra
Jacqui grew up in the Wood River Valley, dancing with the Foot Light Dance Company/ School for fifteen years. There she developed an appreciation for many movement modalities, including Pilates. A few years later she found yoga and was hooked.
At 21 she studied Pilates through the Physical Mind Institute. During her training she taught both Pilates and yoga in private and class settings. After her Pilates certification she continued teaching at a Innerflo studio in Ketchum for a year. At that point she met her future husband and chose to move on to other things, all the while keeping up her personal yoga practice. Since moving to McCall, Jacqui has completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification through Shanti’s teacher training school.  Jacqui continues to study for her 500 RYT certification.

Jodie Lea
Jodie Lea, MA, MFTI Jodie Lea has competed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification through Shanti’s teacher training school.  Jodi is currently in private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and Life Coach in McCall, Idaho. She is working under the supervision of Allan West, LMFT to complete her licensure. Jodie has worked in many different contexts with many different types of people in her attempt to understand the workings of the human soul: her background includes directing children’s theatre and teaching creative dramatics and creative writing to elementary and middle school students, teaching and counseling youth-at-risk in the Alternative High School and the Juvenile Detention Center, counseling and educating victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and working as a substance abuse counselor. Jodie has a BA in Psychology from the New School University in New York City and an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Most recently, Jodie teamed up with Uma Mulnick, DC to develop a course entitled "Create the Life You Want." This course deeply explores the power of intention, attraction, and visualization and will provide the basis for Jodie’s contribution to "The Art of Intention" retreat series. Jodie’s passion for unraveling the secrets of human potential is only rivaled by her passion for the outdoors. On any given weekend in McCall you will find Jodie cross country skiing, hiking, picking huckleberries, or enjoying a swim in the lake...depending on the season.

Kasey Rose
Kasey has completed her 200 RYT through Shanti Yoga’s teacher training school and continues to study for her 500 RYT certification.  Kasey brings her lifetime of athleticism into her yoga practice. For 17 years she leapt from planes into the wilds of the American West to work on wildland fires. She built her strength through running, weight training, and calisthenics. She competed at the collegiate level in rowing, raced bicycles for many years, and continues to compete at Nordic skiing. Kasey currently teaches Nordic skiing in the McCall community.

Kasey earned a B.S. in Zoology with an emphasis on anatomy and physiology and other pre-med classes. A number of trips to physical therapists over the years, an interest in the workings of the human body, and the desire to stay active have afforded Kasey an acute awareness of body movement. Kasey brings this awareness and her physical strength to yoga and savors the camaraderie of sharing through teaching. Kasey is also one of our massage therapists where she finds that her background enables her to be especially proficient in addressing athlete's needs.
